Laura Wood
Financial Adviser

Laura began working in finance in 2006, having previously been working and helping adults with learning disabilities. She started as a mortgage adviser and later moved into investment and pension advice in 2008 whilst on maternity leave. Her hard work paid off, earning her the respected Chartered Fellow title from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), the most highly regarded designation for those working in the Finance Planning industry.

Outside of work Laura enjoys the theatre, baking, and taking her dog, Merlin, for a walk.

Chris Wood

Chris was at the helm as Heartwood Wealth was formed in 2024 having previously worked at a large wealth management company in Wakefield for the past 6 years.
Prior to this Chris worked as Head of Chemistry at Hall Cross Academy in Doncaster where he completed his Masters in Education and Leadership.
At Heartwood Wealth, we appreciate the importance of a practice manager in maintaining our operations.

When not at his desk, Chris can often be found wildly hacking at the rough at the golf course, or frequenting his local board game café.
Merlin
Head of Client Relations
Merlin is one of the founding members of Heartwood Wealth having being rescued just before Lockdown.
Merlin’s key responsibilities include warmly meeting and greeting all clients alongside guests who visit the office. With utmost pride in the role, Merls welcomes our visitors with an open paw and, if needed, a cuddle to make them feel truly valued and appreciated.

In his spare time Merls enjoys spending time with family, chasing pigeons and showing his party tricks to anyone with treats!
